Although the Zoloft prescription had been filled sometime between late August or early of September of 2005 Kenny didn't actually begin taking the medication until September 18th, 2005 (FN 19). For a whole week (prior to Kim's death) Zoloft had built up in Kenny's system due to him being a Intermediate metabolizer. On the eighth day of taking the medication the dosage doubled (per doctor's orders) (FN 20). This, in turn, further exacerbated his symptoms (e.g., paranoia, insomnia, nightmares, restlessness, irritability, emotional numbness, and intense anger) due to him having an adverse reaction to Zoloft (FN 21). The end result being Kim's death.
